The workshop focuses on how to approach performance as a meeting between two (or more) people. Influenced from everyday life and social encounters, we explore notions of intimacy and coming together, communication, agency and consent in participatory art. We use elements and exercises from my artistic practice, play with performative tasks, writing scores, walking encounters and collective games as well as have an introduction to the 1-1(one with one) format I developed in 2017.

Moreover, we focus on how to create our own participatory performance through simple theory and practical exercises. Different formats will be proposed and the group is supported to make their own decisions and find their personal viewpoint on the topic. We focus on questions like: How do I communicate what is happening during the performance? How do I perform myself in 1-1 (one with one) meetings? How does the pandemic affect the notion of intimacy and participatory performance? How safe do I want the participant to feel? Additionally, the participants will gain some tools in building and engaging into this type of performances as well as acknowledge the responsibility of a creator/performer of a participatory event.
