Bio

Petros Konnaris (Nicosia, 1988) is a performance artist working between the fields of dance, live art and participatory art. He has a BA in Dance from University of Nicosia, a BSc in Mathematics and Statistics from University of Cyprus and a MA in Live Art and Performance Studies from UniArts Helsinki – Theater Academy. He has worked professionally as a performer and choreographer since 2011 and since 2022 he has been the artistic director of Dance House Lefkosia.

His artistic practice focuses on the creation of performative and embodies landscapes that activate critical thinking, (self) reflection, and reevaluation of our positionality in current reality. Influenced from care, sensitivity and tenderness as tools for coexistence and relationality, feminist and queer interpretations of belongingness, play and performance scores, Konnaris’ research is expressed through daily rituals, durational happenings, 1-1 (one with one) performances and public interventions.

His works has been presented in important festivals, programs and exhibitions in Cyprus and abroad such as The Posture of Impermanence (FI), Open House Festival (CY), Thesalloniki Queer Art Festival (GR), Buffer Fringe Festival (CY), International Festival and Conference Asiatopia (ΤΗ), New Performance Turku Festival (FI), and more.
